Podiatry
A podiatrist treats foot disorders and lower limb problems related to the feet. This includes treatment and advice on:
Corns
Callus
Nail Problems
Diabetic Foot Care
Athletes Foot
Footwear
Specialist treatments include:
Corrective nail surgery for ingrowing nails
provision of individual foot orthoses (insoles) for mechanical foot problems, commonly heel, ankle, arch and forefoot pain (metatarsalgia).
Our podiatrists offer friendly and experienced professional help for foot problems or provide foot care for people of any age. They are registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and are also members of the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists.
Many people often ask what is the difference between a podiatrist and a chiropodist? In the last two decades the term podiatry has begun to gradually supersede chiropody. These days a student qualifies with a degree and is known as a podiatrist rather that a chiropodist. Podiatrist is an international terminology.
